Jawad Al Rahwanji
Doctoral researcher @ CISPA | RTG Nx Models
I am a second-year computer science Ph.D. candidate at the Helmholtz Center CISPA, advised by Jilles Vreeken, and a member of the Neuroexplicit Models Research Training Group. My research focuses on explainable and interpretable machine learning and data mining methods, with a primary application in biomedicine.
Previously, I obtained my M.Sc. in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from Saarland University. I wrote my Master's thesis on differentiable subgroup discovery in time-to-event (survival) data with the Exploratory Data Analysis group. Before that, I earned my B.Eng. in Information Technology from Damascus University, where for my graduation project I developed a computer-vision-based event detection system for safety and security.
